Gimme some mo!

While our own US Vogue is having its own problems (profits way down, job cuts at Conde Nast), U.K. Vogue is stepping up their game -- to the extreeeeeme! -- with this Roald Dahl-inspired shoot...

Ahh! The first couple of creepiness! What Marilyn Manson and Evan Rachel Wood wish they could've been...

Check out the rest at Wicked Halo. A healthy dose of a sense of humor and theatricality go hand in hand with great style, in my opinion, yet so often lacks in fashion editorials. In my goings-around at work, I've found the same is true for music; there's no end to bands with punctuation marks in their names, fast hair, and steely glares for their liner notes.

Here, a video from Busta (somewhat reminiscent of the photos above), whose got it all: not only music artistry, but a sense of humor and the willingness to be ridiculous-- and maybe even creepy.

Did they only do charlie and the chocolate factory + james and the giant peach themes?
I would have loved to seen them do The Twits theme! That's my favourite from Dahl's collection.
What do you mean trading links? (I'm a bit challenged in the promoting arena)

I just browsed through these at Borders the other day... SO coool. Also, I agree, a sense of humor is always a plus where style is concerned!

Good gravy, these are fantastic. Though, I'm always up for ANYTHING inspired by Roald Dahl. Seriously, anything.

Honestly I have a subscription to American Vogue and I barely ever read it. It's so bland and boring..that's why sales are down. I loooooove American Vogue..thanks for sharing this!

Munted Kowhai: Have you ever read BFG? Another good, though silly, Roald Dahl book! And exchanging links just means that I put the name and link to your blog on my blogroll, and you do the same for mine... if you go to your blogger dashboard and click "edit content" and you'll find a place to add widgety things like pictures, html and other things and there should be a link for "adding a list" which is what I do. Some people do other things as well!

Missa: Wish our bookstores would have up to date issues of foreign magazines! Gah!!

Everyone: Glad you enjoyed the photos as much as I do!
