Yours, Elissa.

This morning I was rolling my eyes along to a radio talk show where they featured a social media expert. "All that means," said my Sweet, "is that they have a Twitter account." I snorted to myself, "I could be a social media expert."

But I would never try to pawn myself off as an expert, even though I frequently fantasize about Catch Me If You Can-type things like passing myself off as a heart surgeon for one malpractice-mired day... I'm involved in social media, but I definitely don't use it to its greatest extent. As we drove along to the strains of the Wu Tang Clan, I became increasingly agitated.

"I feel bad," I said.

"What's the deal, baby seal?" replied he.

"Ech, I dunno. It's stupid," I paused, "The social media expert set me off. I'm annoyed with my blog."

"Hm..."

"It's just, I have this blog, I have this Twitter account and Flickr and all of these other things with my name on it, and I don't know what I'm saying to anybody anymore. It doesn't really mean anything. But then again, I don't want to quit because, what a thing to waste!"

"You gotta not have this hoarder's mentality about your social media," Sweets concluded, and funnily, his diagnosis ended my months of inner turmoil (really) about whether to continue on with SpandexPony.

My raison d'etre is no longer there. I've come to a point in my life where what I am and what I'm doing right now don't vibe with the spirit of this blog any more. I need time off, to figure out what I'm doing next. I've very much enjoyed writing and photographing and sharing it with all of you, reading your comments and visiting your blogs, as well. I'll still keep up with my photos on Flickr, and probably occasionally Tweet things in lieu of bookmarking them-- you know, cool shops, great ideas I've found... you can find the links to those accounts in the sidebar.

If and when I return to blogging, I'll be sure to post something on here and/or Tweet it as well. In the meantime, I'll be reading and commenting on yours. Thanks, dear readers, for contributing a bit of glamour into an ordinary girl's life. I can't tell you how much I've enjoyed the past two years.

Take care,

Elissa.

I look forward to what you have in store for the world of fashion, or further for that matter. You clearly have a distinctive outlook and when you place them all into a nucleus, well....BAM! We shall see and I can't wait! To the stars my friend!!

Good luck with everything! It will all sort itself out. Everyone needs a break now and then. Blogging is hard work!

Aw shoot, yours is one of the blogs I enjoy the most out of the many I've found via w_r. But I too have debated the "do I really need this blog?" issue. I actually think you might be a trendsetter... I have a feeling many blogs (and the whole social media craze) are on the verge of dying off. Have a great break! I think I already follow you on Twitter but I've really fallen off using or checking that.

I know how you feel. I keep having trouble figuring out what No Signposts is for, but have decided to keep it going until, I don't know, "something" happens. I am sad to see Spandex Pony go, and hope that you will be back very soon, in whatever shape suits you! :)

oh so sad. perhaps i should have commented before so that you would know you have lots of loyal fans. Nonetheless, I wish you the best, and hope that you soar high. You are very talented and creative and I'm sure you will find much success and happiness in life.

Well you know when it comes to that time right. All the best with everything and you know where we are if you want to say something again. See you round (it's never good bye for real).

That hat is rocking by the way.

I love your hat! I recently told a friend I'm not sure my blog has "a point" but since I enjoy it I wasn't going to question it. :)

Thanks all for your lovely comments! I love to write and interact with all of you, and I'm definitely brainstorming what my next "act" will be. So far, I'm really enjoying "blogging" from my Twitter... so commitment-free, and I kind of like getting "lost in the matrix" on there. That might be an oxymoron. Any whos, thanks for the love. It means mucho. Keep you all updated on what I do next.

Aw,bummer! Just popped in because I FINALLY figured out how to put one of your flickr photos up on my How To Wear Leggings page at Mahalo, which I requested ages ago. Wanted to say thanks and let you know it's finally up,and I see this!!

Yeah, some of these things can be hard work and and it can be hard to justify the effort/time involved sometimes... I'm sure your readers can certainly understand wanting to take a break. Well thanks for that pic - seriously you had THE BEST PIC ON THE WEB for a certain part of my page - and who knows, maybe you're in a turning point in your life, and you'll be back blogging on some quite different subject matter in future!

Best of luck with everything!
